Roland U-220 / U-20 drum & fx samples

Roland U-220

Absolutely FREE, drum & fx samples from my Roland u-220 rompler module from 1989. It is rack version of Roland U-20 keyboard.
Provided sample pack includes additional latin and fx sounds from expansion card number 2. It contains all drum and fx samples with different pitches, effects off, long decay and relase set. Samples were originally recorded at 24bit 48khz by Motu 2408 mk2 interface, then denoised (removed few db of noise floor) and converted to 16bit.

DOWNLOAD U-220 DRUM SAMPLE PACK

Roland u-220 is simple 16-bit rompler, 30 voices of polyphony, 4mb of rom, reverb, chorus and delay effects are onboard.
No control over filter but you can control ADSR envelope and you can stack up to 6 detuned and panned voices, so you can create some fat basses or fat synths. Waveforms generally are not so bad, but related to popular music (very good piano).

Convert samples to 10bit 11bit 12bit 13bit

convert samples to 10-13bit

I made few useful scripts for converting wav samples to 10-13bit. Windows only!

You need sox command line converter.
Download sox-14.3.2-win32.zip and unpack to C:
Download archive with *.bat scripts convert10-13bit.zip

You can use scripts in two ways.
First: Open internet explorer, type “shell:sendto” in address bar. Copy scripts to this window. Now you can click on yor wav file(s) right mouse button and simple send to selected script from “send to” menu.
Second: Simple drag and drop wav file(s) to script icon.

Converted samples are located in /converted/ directory where your wavs are located.
You can send to script max about 30 files at once.

Scripts do not add any noise dithering.

10 bits – cuts signal below 60db
11 bits – cuts signal below 66db
12 bits – cuts signal below 72db
13 bits – cuts signal below 78db

Enjoy! :)
